Dr. Nicole Ruysschaert M.D. is psychiatrist-psychotherapist, providing hypnosis training and supervision in medical and psychotherapeutic settings in many countries worldwide. She is past – president of the ESH (European Society of Hypnosis) and of the VHYP (Flemish Scientific Hypnosis Society) and has been elected as board of directors member of ISH in 2015. She works in a private practice since more than 30 years where she sees clients with a variety of problems. Over the years, she worked out many hypnosis training workshops – basic, intermediate, advanced for working with hypnosis in psychotherapeutic and medical settings. She is particularly interested in mind-body interactions, and endeavouring to integrate hypnotic work and positive, suggestive communication in medical settings, which results in successful trainings in hypnotic communication in medical settings at the university hospital UZA in Antwerp. She teaches on hypnosis in a 2 years psychotrauma treatment training at the VUB (University Brussels) and on Ericksonian hypnosis in solution-focused therapy at Korzybski Institute Antwerp / Bruges. She gave many keynotes, lectures and workshops for constitutional hypnosis societies of ESH and ISH in Europe, Canada, USA, China, Iran. she published some papers on hypnosis for stress control, burnout and happiness.

2019 she received the Shirley Schneck award from the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis in recognition of her significant contributions to the development of medical hypnosis.
